SAED HINDASH photography

I look for the extraordinary in the ordinary. I find magic in the seemingly mundane, from birthdays to barbecues and weddings to wakes. Where some people see a tree, I see shapes and shadows, motion and momentum. Where some see a bride, I see romance and radiance, memories and mythos. Where some see food, I see art and artistry, hunger and harmony. As a professional photojournalist for over 20 years, I have covered everything from professional sports and presidential visits to tragedies and triumphs, big and small. I currently work at NJ Advance Media. Prior to that, I worked for The Star-Ledger. There, I was on the team awarded the 2005 Pulitzer Prize for Breaking News for our coverage of New Jersey Gov. Jim McGreevey's resignation. I also shared the 2002 Dart Award with Star-Ledger reporter Matt Reilly for our coverage of a Siberian orphan who was beaten and froze to death in the custody of his adoptive parents in central New Jersey. I am a member of The Dart Society, National Press Photographers Association, New York Press Photographers Association and New Jersey Press Photographers Association. I'm a Seattle native who inherited an obsessive love of coffee and the environment from my home state. I now live in central New Jersey with my wife and our two children. As a husband and father, I appreciate how brief moments can create lasting memories. As a photographer, I strive to capture moments worth remembering, moments that even decades later can make memories come vividly alive.
